Ugo joined the Business Law Group at Mills & Mills LLP as an associate in 2026.

Ugo is a corporate and commercial lawyer with focused experience in advising businesses, charities and not-for-profit corporations on a wide range of transactional, corporate and governance matters including incorporation, organization, charitable registration, regulatory compliance, by-laws, and board disputes.

Ugo was first called to the Bar in 2018 and began his legal career in Nigeria where he practiced as a commercial litigator, first at a national and then a mid-sized law firm. After relocating to Canada in 2021, Ugo completed a Professional LLM in Canadian Common Law and worked as a Legal Operations Officer for a multinational warehousing and logistics corporation before articling at a national firm in 2023. After his call to the Ontario Bar in 2023, Ugo practiced as an associate advising charities, not-for-profits and trusts on charity law, corporate and governance matters.

He is an active member of the Charity and Not-for-Profit Law section of the Ontario Bar Association and several professional associations, including the Nigerian Bar Association. He also mentors students and internationally trained lawyers through mentorship programs provided by the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers and the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada.
