Lucia articled with Mills & Mills LLP in 2021 and joined our business law group as an associate in 2022.
Lucia’s business practice encompasses a broad range of corporate and commercial matters for charities, not-for-profit corporations and for-profit corporations. Lucia can help with and can advise on a broad range of matters including charitable registrations, business formation, organization, regulatory compliance, and expansions into Canada.
Prior to joining the firm, Lucia completed her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Common Law with Cum Laude. In law school, Lucia represented the University of Ottawa in the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot and won the Best Respondent Factum. As the respondent, she defended the position that a corporation could deduct the amounts paid to investment bankers during an acquisition.
Lucia also received an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto with High Distinction. During her undergraduate degree, Lucia constantly sought opportunities to strengthen her community through various charitable work. She planned social and spiritual events for undergraduate students as the president of her Parish’s University Group. Lucia also created a management framework for a Toronto community centre with low employee retention rates. The Toronto community centre was struggling to retain employees from underprivileged backgrounds. Lucia conducted research and interviews to address the underlying problems leading to communication breakdowns between employees and management.
Lucia is passionate about providing clients with practical and efficient solutions for their complex business needs. She is also fluent in Korean and English and is happy to assist clients in either language.
