Vanessa has over 13 years of experience in the legal industry bringing a strong foundation in civil, commercial and estate litigation. Her career began at a boutique firm where she quickly gained extensive knowledge of the legal process, including the drafting of complex legal documents for all levels of court in Ontario. She has also worked at Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, assisting with issues in Media Law such as defamation, the Right to be Forgotten, Freedom of Expression, access to information and copyright infringement. This experience laid the groundwork for her transition into paralegal practice, equipping her with a deep understanding of both procedural and substantive law.
Since becoming a licensed paralegal in 2022, she has focused her practice on Small Claims Court matters and Administrative Tribunal proceedings. She is well-versed in navigating these forums and is dedicated to delivering cost-effective client-focused legal services.
Her academic journey began at the University of Toronto where she studied Egyptology before discovering her passion for law. She holds a Law Clerk diploma from Seneca College and graduated with distinction from Trios College’s Paralegal program in 2021. She is currently working towards her Bachelor of Professional Arts in Governance Law and Management with a special focus on Indigenous rights and governance.
She is committed to advocacy, integrity and continued learning. She brings a culturally informed perspective to her practice and strives to support clients with diligence, respect and professionalism.
