Sylvia is proud to represent the fifth generation of Mills to practice at the firm since its founding in 1884. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Alexander Mills, K.C., one of the founders of the firm, and the great-granddaughter of Paul H. Mills, Q.C. Her grandfather, Peter Mills, Q.C., completed his articles at Mills & Mills before establishing his practice and later serving as a Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario. Sylvia joined our Wills and Estates Group as an Associate in 2025. She is pleased to continue providing legal services to clients, generations later.

Sylvia’s practice is focused on estate law. She enjoys helping clients navigate the world of estate planning and administration. She is dedicated to providing clear, efficient, and practical solutions that reflect each client’s unique needs.

Sylvia obtained her law degree from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Lincoln Alexander School of Law in June 2025. During her studies, she worked part-time for a boutique firm, gaining valuable experience in legal research, drafting, and client advocacy. She was a summer student at Emond Publishing, where she assisted in the preparation of educational materials for law students and licensing candidates.

Before attending law school, Sylvia obtained a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from McMaster University followed by a Graduate Diploma in Publishing from Centennial College. Her previous work experiences span a variety of fields, including many years as a Park Naturalist with Ontario Parks and, more recently, on the Cancer Information team at the Canadian Cancer Society.
