Peter D. Stephens
Peter joined Mills & Mills LLP as a LegalShield Associate in April 2000, after a sixteen year solo practice which, along with a steady emphasis on family law, encompassed refugee protection cases, criminal jury trials and Federal Court appeals. He has also worked as a per diem Crown Attorney and a part-time community college law professor.
Peter earned an Honours B.A. in philosophy and political science at Glendon College (York University) in 1969, and studied philosophy a further year at Duke University before leaving academia to spend two years at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England. After a brief but enjoyable acting career, he entered Osgoode Hall Law School in 1979, graduating in 1982.
Peter was called to the bar in 1984.
Peter finds great satisfaction in demystifying the law for LegalShield members and helping people find the confidence to assert their rights.
