Denise joined Mills & Mills LLP in 2005 and became a Partner in 2018. Denise’s practice is focused on private business, not-for-profit and regulatory law. Denise assists business owners and not-for-profit boards by providing practical and valuable legal advice. Her goal is to protect the business and legal rights of her clients in order to help them succeed.

Denise is a frequent speaker on topics of interest to private business owners including starting a business, restructuring, buying and selling businesses, and the importance of putting agreements in writing.

Denise’s corporate work includes advising not-for-profit and charitable organizations such as professional associations, regulatory bodies, churches and health sector foundations. Recently much of Denise’s work for not-for-profit corporations has involved by-law revisions and governance matters under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act and the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010.

Denise has developed practices in the design and health sectors. With more than 15 years of experience working with design sector clients, she knows the business of design and provides comprehensive services to design sector professionals, businesses and regulators. In the health sector, she advises regulated health professionals and health care institutions including long-term care facilities and health sector associations.
