| David A.S. Mills | Partner | Year of Call: 2000 | Read full bio |
![]() Contact:
Phone: 416-682-7138 David is proud to represent the fourth generation of Mills to practice at the firm. He is a great-grandson of Alexander Mills, K.C., one of the founders, grandson of Ralph S. Mills, Q.C., and a son of J. Paul Mills, Q.C. David served his articles with Mills & Mills LLP, joined the firm following his call to the Bar and became a partner in 2006. David’s practice consists of two main areas. In his first practice area, David provides a comprehensive range of legal services to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and private businesses. In his second practice area, David provides business succession and personal estate services, including the transition of businesses from one generation to the next, the planning and administration of personal estates and the resolution of estate disputes. When business or estate disputes arise, David engages his clients in a results-driven dispute resolution process. This involves a thorough analysis of his clients’ rights and interests and an assessment of the risks and benefits of each strategic option. The assessment includes weighing both tangible (primarily financial) elements and intangible factors (such as the protection of reputations and the strain of litigation on long term family or commercial relationships). The optimal strategy – which may include alternative dispute resolution techniques or traditional court action – is then designed and vigorously pursued. David has achieved success for his clients in all of these venues, including at every level of the courts of Ontario. Education

Phone: 416-682-7142 Tony joined Mills & Mills in 2001. His prior experience with Toronto national firms exposed him to an array of commercial and personal matters including business disputes and general litigation. In the 1990′s, as a partner of a boutique bank-side firm, Tony established and managed a formal insolvency department to support the lending function. He attracted retainers from Canadian financial institutions and successfully argued a volume of debtor/creditor and insolvency cases on the Commercial List in Toronto and the General Lists throughout Ontario. More recently, he has appeared regularly on behalf of other executors and beneficiaries on the Estates List in Toronto on such estate matters as passing of accounts, will interpretations and capacity disputes. He has also sought out unique appointments in acting as an estate trustee during litigation, litigation administrator and supervising counsel. Tony sits as a director on the boards of some small private Ontario corporations. He is ardent about continuing legal education. Education

Education
